In the morning of 15/01/2004, a solemn Graduation ceremony for FIT HOU students, course 2000-2004 and at the same time an Opening Ceremony for students of the course 2005-2009 were held at Viet Hung Vocational College in Son Tay ( VHVC) co-organized by FIT HOU and VHVC.
The participation to the ceremony included representatives from the Popular Committee of Son Tay town; from FITHOU and from VHVC.
The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere and with the great enthusiasm and pleasure of the new graduates.
On behalf of the new graduates, two excellent representatives of the 2000-2004 course made moving speeches and promised to endeavour to improve themselves and contribute into the national development.
The new students were also delighted to receive the warm welcome from teachers and seniors. From then on, they have become the formal members of FITHOU big family.
The ceremony closed in the mood of being loath to part among teachers and the new engineers. After four years of the lecturers’ enthusiasm in guidance and teaching and the students’ hard work, they have formally become colleagues and together on the way of national construction and development. |
Here is an extract from the speech in the graduation ceremony by Khuat Thi Minh Thuy – a new graduate- one of two graduated with distinction- :
“The foundation of all of the developed and developing countries is Information Technology. Information Technology is the long-term wish of all of us, your students.
According to educational news, in 1960 Korea was still a poor country. They decided IT to be the key industry for the demand for grey matter. They carried out various systems of studying and training to encourage all people to learn as schools were believed to be factories where produced talents to construct the nation.
Nowadays, 47% of Korean population have Internet connection. Korea is one of the leading countries in IT and one of the four new dragons which is estimated to have the marvelous economic development.
Also, our country has a statement: “Education is the first and foremost national strategy; talents are life-sustaining element of the nation.” Our Party and Government have been implementing the policy of various training systems, providing us with opportunities to study at universities and fulfill our wishes. |

We still remember the feeling of the first days attending the course of System Management. At that time, all of us were worried about the difficulties and wondered if we could obtain the knowledge taught by the lecturers.
We all shared the common feeling that the first classes were as extremely difficult as our early days of learning a, b, c.
Over the periods of time, the difficulties have gone by, thanking for the enthusiasm of the teachers. Despite the terrible weather, you – our teachers – have travelled for hundreds of kilometer to come here to teach us. With all your hearts, you have carefully taught us each of the chapters, each of the items. Whenever any students didn’t understand the lessons, you were patient, explaining them until they were clear.
Stemming from the wish of obtaining the knowledge of computing, together with the lessons, encouragement and pictures of IT in the future made by the teachers, we felt more elated to study. You – our teachers – have strengthened us to overcome all obstacles during the past four years to reach the future destination.
After four years, our dream now comes true. Today, warmly welcoming all our teachers and delegates to the closing ceremony, we are honoured to receive the diploma to develop our own future and contribute to the national construction.
Today is the day we say farewell to our school, our teachers and classmates so we can’t help being loath to part.
In the mood of being reluctant to part, could I be on behalf of the students of class 6500B1 to greatly gratitude our teachers - the boatmen who have been being wrapped up in carrying us and the later students across the river of knowledge. We will never forget what you – our teachers – have done for us.
We would also like to send our thanks and wishes of good health to managers of Viet Hung Vocational College for their help in providing us with a good learning environment during the last four years so that we can gain the present achievements.
Our present studying accomplishments have been first of all credited by lecturers of FITHOU. At the beginning of the new year, we would like to wish all teachers, delegates and students good health, happiness and luck. We hope that you will never forget the memories we have shared during the past four years.
Thank you very much indeed!” |
