On the demand of the President of HOU, DR PHAM MINH VIET, a presentation session on E-training products of FITHOU during the school year 2004-2005 has been organized at the meeting hall No1, campus I of HOU on this Friday March 25th. Participating to the session were not only senior staff members from HOU but also some lecturers and researchers from Hanoi University of Technology and two delegates from the International Fund of Risky Investment.
After an introduction about the two Research Centers of the Faculty: Center for Equipment and Systems Management (CESM) and Center of Online Instructional Technology (COIT), the Dean of FITHOU made a short presentation of 3 groups of E-training products produced at CESM and COIT in the school year 2004-2005 and recently put in use for Online training for students of FITHOU, namely for students in Distance Education system.
The demonstration started by Eng. VU VIET ANH, Head of CESM with 2 software used for the student management services: the first one for office use on stand-alone PC (using Access Database) and another for network use - management on website (with SQL server Database), and by Deputy Dean FITHOU, LUONG CAO DONG. MS., who presented the system of student results searching through telephone which were warmly welcome not only by FITHOU students and also by their parents living far from Hanoi.
Then MS. LUONG CAO DONG and Eng. PHAM CONG HOA, on behalf of their research team made a presentation of the learning software E-books, produced at COIT in 2 forms: software recorded on CD supplied for students as learning materials and E-books put on website for online training.
At last, THAI THANH TUNG, MBA, MIS, Head COIT and his collaborator Eng. LE HUU DUNG presented to audience the Virtual University of FITHOU: the FITHOU CYBERSCHOOL placed on Website www.fithou.net.vn. In FITHOU CYBERSCHOOL, the authors have realized successfully almost the main functions of a virtual institution: the sub-system of orientation and information, the student management sub-system, the course delivering, interaction and tutorial sub-systems, and the Forum (some other functions: registrations, financing, auto-evaluation... depending on the new regulation and directives of HOU still have to wait). The participants to the session paid great attention to the number of more than 1200 members and 70,000 visitors of FITHO.forum since October 2004: this number certified that FITHOU CYBERSCHOOL has become an attractive study address on the Internet.
For the conclusion, Dr. PHAM MINH VIET highly appreciated the results completed at FITHOU in the past school year and promised that HOU will create better conditions for this research orientation so that HOU should be able to contribute more efficiently to the current movement of Education Renovation of our country.
