On this July 29, 2006, the annual meeting of the Scientific and Academic Board of FITHOU presided by Prof THAI THANH SON, was held at the Campus I of HOU.
Were attending the meeting, not only the members of the Board but also the Heads of all Departments and Centers, Managers of the student service of FITHOU. The meeting also welcomed guests from HOU : A/Prof PHAM THANH NGHI, Manager, Office for Science and Technology and Dr NGUYEN HOANG, Manager of the Training and Student Office - HOU.
The principal report was presented by Vice - Dean LUONG CAO DONG on behalf of the permanent commitee of the Board. After long discussion, the Board took 3 important decisions as follow.
1/ Upgrading the training curriculum for Applied IT engineer specialty
Since the year 2006- 2007 , realizing the decision of MOET, FITHOU will concentrate to the formation of Applied IT engineer.
The training duration is 8 semesters plus 12 weeks for the final stage and exam / final thesis.
The content in the new training curriculum is accordingly oriented to the applications of IT in Techniques and Social Economical management, following the directives of the National IT project in the period 2006-2010 : E-government. E-Commerce and E- Education.
Parrallely with Microsoft technology, the new training curriculum is completed with many components of open source softwares and Java in order to cope with the current demand of IT market.
For the final exam, student will have to pass 2 courses : Information system analysis and designing and Fundamental mathematics ( Algebra and discrete mathematics )
The new training curriculum will be for use for the the class 2006.
2/ New regulations of Examination and Assignment assesment.
In the whole training course, student will have 2 essays for social- humanity matters during the 1st and 2nd semesters and 7 assigments for the 3 - 7 semesters. The Board were agreed about the important role of not only teachers but also of Departments in Examinations and Assignment assesments.
The Board has also proposed to The Dean and the student office of FITHOU for trying to move general courses of social and humanity sciences to the last semesters of the course, so student can prepare more easily to the final national exam on social -humanity sciences and besdies they can also participate to scientific research earlier, since the 3rd or 4th semester.
3/ Orientations in scientific reseach :
To continue the results of the years 2004-2006, the Board took decision to report to the Uni anf MOET about the orientations in scientific research in next coming years as follows :
- In E-education : To design and product teaching softwares and test-examination softwares for use in FITHOU as weel as in HOU.
- In E- commerce : To co-operate with some office and companies in building ecybermall and e-market.
